Weber-tylon Ultra flex
20 kg
6 ht set adhesive designed to absorb lateral movement
Weber Tylon Ultra-flex is the perfect adhesive for large format tiles. It is a highly flexible, high strength, rapid-set cement-based tile adhesive suitable for wall and floor applications.
Produced from carefully selected raw materials for consistency of product, it only requires the addition of water on site and sets in 6 hours.
STEP 1:
28 Days minimum curing periods should be observed before tiling commences on new concrete floors, screeds, brick walls, plaster walls.
Ensure that all surfaces are clean, dry, sound and free from dust, grease or any contamination that could impair bonding. Substrate must be perfectly flat, uneven surface could cause a large tile to crack.
STEP 2:
Combine a 20 kg bag of Weber Tylon Ultra-flex with 5 litres of clean water and stir until completely free of lumps.
Do not add too much water or attempt to extend the working time by adding more water as this will cause the adhesive to be weak with a tendency to crumble.
STEP 3:
Allow the mixture to mature for 5 minutes and re mix thoroughly. The consistency can be adjusted by adding a small amount of water.
STEP 4:
Do not mix more adhesive than can be applied within 1 hour. Adhesive must be soft and fluffy.
STEP 5:
Spread adhesive using a 12 mm notched trowel to a minimum bedded thickness of 3 mm on walls and 6 mm on floors. Heavily lugged, grooved or
dove tailed tiles must be back buttered to fill any voids with adhesive before placing into wet adhesive.
Depending on the nature and evenness of the surface and method of application, approximately 6 m² per 20 kg bag when applied using a 6 mm notched trowel (wall tiling) and 4 m² per 20 kg bag when applied when using a 10 mm notched trowel (floor tiling) ie: based on a level/even floor.
INSTALLING & REMOVING LARGE TILES:
Removing large tiles are almost impossible. A rubber float must me used to instal large tiles and to lift a tile without risk or damage a tile use a fine metal wire, pulled underneath the freshly fixed tile.
